Behind The Jars

Behind The Jars

Neurodiversity & Me

Behind The Jars is a personal reflection from Sarah Churchill, founder of The Artisan Kitchen.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 54 & Dyscalculia at 55  — in many ways, Life finally made sense.

For decades, I’d wondered why my brain worked the way it did: fast, curious, wildly creative, often chaotic. That diagnosis didn’t change who I am, but it gave me language for things I’d always felt. It explained the drive, the instinct to improvise, the energy I pour into the kitchen. It helped me understand how I built The Artisan Kitchen.

ADHD has its challenges, but it also brings incredible creativity, determination, and a knack for thinking in ways others don’t. It’s part of my story, and I wouldn’t trade it.

While we don’t contribute financially at this time, we proudly use this space to support ADHD awareness, share trusted resources, and remind others (maybe someone like you) that neurodivergent minds belong in every kitchen, studio, classroom and workspace.
