Description

Apricot Jam

A golden, fragrant jam made with 8 to 12 ripe apricots in every jar for generous fruit flavour, soft sweetness and a fresh, gently tangy finish.

Quick answer: Apricot Jam is a golden fruit preserve made with ripe apricots, sugar and lemon juice. Each 200 g jar contains 8 to 12 apricots and is prepared with 85 g of fruit per 100 g, creating a bright, softly sweet jam with fresh apricot flavour and a gentle tang.

Our Apricot Jam is golden, fragrant and beautifully fruit-led, with the soft sweetness and gentle acidity that make ripe apricots so distinctive.

Each 200 g jar is made with 8 to 12 apricots, giving the preserve a notably generous fruit character and a naturally apricot-led flavour.

We cook it by hand in small batches in our Gloucester kitchen, allowing the fruit to retain its aroma, colour and fresh orchard brightness.

Choose this jam if you enjoy soft, sunny fruit flavour, gentle tang and a generous apricot content in every spoonful.

Why Apricot Jam Is So Useful in the Kitchen

Apricot jam is one of the most versatile preserves to keep in the cupboard because its balance of sweetness and acidity works across breakfast, baking, cheeseboards and savoury cooking.

Its fresh fruit character is beautiful on croissants, toast and brioche, while its natural affinity with almonds, vanilla and pastry makes it especially useful in cakes, tarts and biscuits.

When warmed gently, the jam becomes glossy and easy to brush, making it an excellent glaze for fruit tarts, pastries, roast meats and vegetables.

How to Enjoy It

  • Spread on warm croissants, toast, brioche or sourdough
  • Spoon over Greek yoghurt, porridge, pancakes or waffles
  • Use as a filling for almond cakes, sponge cakes or biscuits
  • Brush over fruit tarts and pastries as a glossy glaze
  • Serve with Brie, ricotta, goat’s cheese or mascarpone
  • Mix with mustard for a glaze for chicken, pork or ham

Chef-crafted, small batch, preserving excellence.

Sarah’s Maker’s Note

Apricots have a naturally soft, perfumed flavour, so I cook them carefully to preserve their freshness and gentle tang. The finished jam should taste clearly of ripe apricot, with enough acidity to keep it bright rather than heavy.

Simple Serving Ideas

  • Warm gently and brush over a fruit tart for shine
  • Stir through yoghurt and top with toasted almonds
  • Use as a layer in an almond sponge or Bakewell-style tart
  • Loosen with hot water and drizzle over pancakes or ice cream
  • Combine with mustard for an easy roast-meat glaze

Apricot Jam for Glazing

Apricot jam is traditionally used as a glaze because it melts smoothly and adds a clear, glossy finish without overwhelming the food beneath it.

For fruit tarts, cakes or pastries, warm the jam gently until loose and brush it over the surface in a thin layer.

For savoury dishes, add a little mustard, vinegar or hot water and use it to glaze chicken, pork, ham or roasted vegetables.
