Description

Gin & Tonic Citrus Marmalade

A two-star Great Taste Award-winning marmalade combining sweet oranges, pink grapefruit, lemons and limes with British gin and tonic water.

Quick answer: Gin & Tonic Citrus Marmalade is a handmade four-citrus preserve inspired by the classic G&T. Sweet orange, pink grapefruit, lemon and lime create a lively fruit base, while British gin and tonic water add botanical depth and a clean, refreshing finish.

Our Gin & Tonic Citrus Marmalade brings together the bright flavour of four citrus fruits with the crisp botanical character of a classic gin and tonic.

Sweet oranges provide roundness and fragrance, while pink grapefruit adds freshness and gentle bitterness. Lemons bring clean acidity, and limes add a lively aromatic lift.

British gin contributes juniper and botanical depth, while tonic water completes the preserve with a crisp, gently bitter finish.

Tasting Notes

Flavour: Sweet orange, fresh grapefruit, lemon and lively lime

Sweetness: Bright, balanced and fruit-led

Bitterness: Gentle grapefruit and tonic depth

Aroma: Citrus zest, juniper and fresh botanicals

Finish: Crisp, clean and refreshing

The Four-Citrus Blend

Each fruit contributes a distinct flavour to the finished marmalade.

Sweet oranges provide roundness, fragrance and familiar citrus warmth. Pink grapefruit brings freshness, floral character and gentle bitterness.

Lemons add clean acidity and zest, while limes give the preserve a sharper aromatic lift.

Together, they create a lively citrus base that is fresh enough to support the gin botanicals and tonic bitterness without losing the clarity of the fruit.

The Gin & Tonic Character

A classic gin and tonic is built around citrus, juniper, botanicals and gentle bitterness, which makes it a natural match for marmalade.

British gin adds juniper and aromatic botanical depth. Tonic water contributes a clean, crisp edge and helps extend the citrus finish.

The finished preserve is recognisably inspired by a G&T, but the four citrus fruits remain the central flavour.

Why Citrus and Gin Work Together

Gin often contains citrus peel and botanical ingredients, so its fragrance naturally complements orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime.

The citrus keeps the preserve bright and lively, while the gin gives the flavour greater length and complexity.

Tonic water adds the final clean bitterness, creating a marmalade that feels refreshing, balanced and distinctly grown-up.

How We Make It

We prepare the oranges, pink grapefruit, lemons and limes carefully, balancing the fruit, juice and peel so each citrus note remains clear.

The British gin and tonic water are added in measured quantities. They should add botanical character and freshness without overpowering the fruit.

Each batch is handmade in our Gloucestershire kitchen, creating a glossy marmalade with tender citrus peel and a clean, aromatic finish.

How to Enjoy It

  • Spread on toasted brioche, croissants, crumpets or sourdough
  • Spoon through Greek yoghurt, porridge or granola
  • Serve with soft goat’s cheese, Brie or mature Cheddar
  • Use as a glaze for salmon, chicken, duck or ham
  • Add to citrus cakes, cheesecakes, tarts or biscuits
  • Stir into a gin spritz, cocktail or sparkling drink

Chef-crafted, small batch, preserving excellence.

Sarah’s Maker’s Note

This marmalade should taste bright and refreshing. The four citrus fruits arrive first, followed by clean gin botanicals and a crisp tonic finish. It has the character of a G&T, but it must always remain a fruit-led marmalade.

Made for Cheese and Savoury Cooking

The fresh citrus and botanical finish make this marmalade especially useful with creamy cheese, fish, poultry and glazed meats.

  • Serve with soft goat’s cheese or creamy Brie
  • Pair with mature Cheddar and crisp crackers
  • Brush over salmon or chicken before roasting
  • Mix with mustard for a glaze for ham or duck
  • Serve alongside charcuterie or pâté

Made for Cakes and Desserts

  • Warm gently and brush over a citrus loaf cake
  • Layer into a vanilla or almond sponge
  • Use as a filling for thumbprint biscuits or tarts
  • Spoon over cheesecake, panna cotta or ice cream
  • Swirl through Greek yoghurt with toasted pistachios

The consistency is easily spoonable and spreadable, with lovely melt-in-the-mouth peel. The fruit is balanced on the palate and incredibly enjoyable to taste, and just when you think you’ve experienced all this marmalade has to offer, the fresh flavour of the gin and tonic glides in — giving a great added element of flavour and fun. The overall flavour has incredible length on the palate, evidencing huge understanding of marmalade making.”

  1. Margo Wood –

Delicxious. Many preserves claim to contain spirits, champagne, fortified wine. Much imagination is needed. Not with this one. As a G and T fan it was perfect. Thank you.

  3. Frances –

I bought this marmalade as a gift and a few weeks later I was ‘allowed’ to have a little taste. My thoughts? I wish I had kept it hidden! 🙂 As with the Blackcurrant and Sloe Gin Jam it is soooo very tasty. A taste explosion in your mouth!! Will be buying my own jar soon.
