Description
Lemon, Lime & Vanilla Marmalade
A bright, fragrant marmalade made with lemons, limes and real vanilla pods for lively citrus flavour and a soft, aromatic finish.
Quick answer: Lemon, Lime & Vanilla Marmalade is a small-batch citrus preserve made with lemons, limes and real vanilla pods. It tastes fresh, tangy and aromatic, with the vanilla gently rounding the sharper citrus notes rather than making the marmalade overtly sweet.
Our Lemon, Lime & Vanilla Marmalade brings together the clean freshness of lemon, the fragrant sharpness of lime and the gentle warmth of real vanilla pods.
The lemon provides clarity and familiar citrus character, while lime adds a brighter, more aromatic lift. Vanilla sits quietly in the background, softening the finish without covering the fruit.
Handmade in small batches in our Gloucestershire kitchen, this is an elegant alternative to traditional orange marmalade and a lovely choice for anyone who prefers lively citrus with a smoother edge.
Choose this marmalade if you enjoy fresh lemon and lime with the subtle aromatic warmth of real vanilla.

Why Lemon, Lime and Vanilla Work Together
Lemon creates the main citrus body of the marmalade, with familiar freshness, clean acidity and a gently bitter peel character.
Lime adds a more aromatic, fragrant note. Its livelier sharpness makes the preserve feel particularly fresh and gives the finish extra lift.
Real vanilla pods provide contrast. Rather than turning the marmalade into a sweet vanilla preserve, they gently soften the citrus and give the finish greater depth and roundness.
This bright citrus marmalade is especially good with goat’s cheese, where the lemon and lime lift the cheese while vanilla softens the finish. Discover more

A Softer Take on Citrus Marmalade
Traditional citrus marmalades can be intensely sharp or bitter. This recipe keeps the freshness and aromatic peel while offering a gentler overall finish.
The vanilla does not remove the citrus bite. Instead, it creates a smoother transition from the lively lemon and lime to the marmalade’s clean, softly aromatic finish.
How to Enjoy It
- Spread on toast, sourdough, croissants or brioche
- Spoon over Greek yoghurt, porridge or pancakes
- Serve with vanilla ice cream, panna cotta or cheesecake
- Pair with Brie, goat’s cheese or mature Cheddar
- Use in sponge cakes, biscuits, pastries and citrus tarts
- Brush over chicken, pork or baked salmon as a citrus glaze
Chef-crafted, small batch, preserving excellence.
Sarah’s Maker’s Note
Vanilla can easily dominate delicate flavours, so I use real pods with restraint. The lemon and lime must remain clear and lively, while the vanilla simply softens the sharper edges and adds a gentle aromatic warmth.
Simple Serving Ideas
- Warm gently and brush over a lemon loaf cake
- Ripple through mascarpone or softly whipped cream
- Spoon over pancakes with Greek yoghurt
- Use as a filling for shortbread or sandwich biscuits

Very Delicious!
Bought this from the official Artisan Kitchen website, and it is a fantastic marmalade. It has a strong and unique flavour that is incredibly moreish, and is great for people that like lime/citrus notes; I’ve not tasted a marmalade before quite like it.

There’s a fine line between too acidic and too sugary, as both lemons and limes can be quite aggressive. Don’t worry. This one’s got the balance perfect. The flavours are pure with just enough edge to keep your taste buds on alert!
And the vanilla fills out the flavour in a very subtle way.
