Negroni Sbagliato Marmalade
A bold, cocktail-inspired marmalade combining Seville oranges with Campari, Martini Rosso, British gin and a splash of Prosecco.
Quick answer: Negroni Sbagliato Marmalade is a limited-edition citrus preserve inspired by Italian aperitivo flavours. Bitter Seville oranges provide the fruit-led base, while Campari, Martini Rosso, British gin and Prosecco add herbal complexity, vermouth warmth and a lively wine finish.
Our Seville Orange Negroni Sbagliato Marmalade gives traditional bitter-orange marmalade a spirited Italian-inspired twist.
Seville oranges bring fragrant peel, lively acidity and confident bitterness. Campari deepens the bitter-orange character, while Martini Rosso adds herbs, warm spice and gentle sweetness.
British gin contributes clean botanical depth, and a splash of Prosecco completes the preserve with delicate wine character and a lighter finish.
Choose this marmalade if you enjoy traditional Seville bitterness with the herbal, botanical and gently vinous character of an Italian aperitivo.

What Is a Negroni Sbagliato?
The Negroni Sbagliato is an Italian aperitivo made with bitter aperitif, sweet vermouth and sparkling wine.
Our marmalade takes inspiration from that lighter, wine-led variation while keeping British gin in the recipe for additional botanical depth.
It is therefore our own preserve-maker’s interpretation rather than a literal version of the cocktail.
The Seville Orange Foundation
Seville oranges give this marmalade the acidity, aromatic peel and natural bitterness needed to support the cocktail ingredients.
Their bold citrus flavour remains clear beside Campari and vermouth, while their fragrance complements the gin botanicals and Prosecco.
The result is unmistakably a proper Seville orange marmalade, but with greater herbal complexity and a more celebratory finish.
The Cocktail-Inspired Ingredients
Campari brings bitter orange, herbs and confident aperitivo character.
Martini Rosso adds rounded sweetness, botanical richness and warm spice, while British gin contributes juniper and a clean herbal finish.
Prosecco provides delicate wine notes and lifts the finish. The marmalade is not fizzy, but the Prosecco gives it a lighter and more elegant character.
How We Make It
We prepare the Seville oranges carefully, cooking the fruit until the peel becomes tender while retaining its fragrant oils and natural bitterness.
Campari, Martini Rosso and British gin are added in measured quantities so each contributes character without overwhelming the oranges.
A splash of Prosecco completes the preserve, adding delicacy and length. Every batch is handmade using open-pan methods in our Gloucestershire kitchen.

Sarah’s Maker’s Note
I wanted this marmalade to keep the fragrant bitterness of Seville oranges while capturing the more celebratory character of a Negroni Sbagliato. The Campari and vermouth provide depth, the gin adds botanicals, and the Prosecco gives the finish a little more lightness and elegance.
