Description

Pink Gin Marmalade

A three-star Great Taste Award-winning marmalade combining pink grapefruit, London Dry Gin and Angostura bitters for vibrant citrus flavour and a delicate botanical finish.

Quick answer: Pink Gin Marmalade is a handmade pink grapefruit preserve inspired by the classic pink gin serve. Fresh grapefruit brings tangy citrus and gentle bitterness, while London Dry Gin and Angostura bitters add juniper, spice and aromatic botanical depth.

Our Pink Gin Marmalade brings together the fresh, bittersweet character of pink grapefruit and the aromatic botanicals of a classic pink gin.

Pink grapefruit provides lively acidity, fragrant citrus oils and a naturally elegant bitterness. London Dry Gin adds clean juniper and botanical notes, while Angostura bitters brings spice, warmth and complexity.

The result is bright and citrus-led, with a refined botanical finish that remains delicate rather than overpowering.

Sweetness: Bright, balanced and fruit-led

Bitterness: Gentle grapefruit and aromatic bitters

Aroma: Grapefruit zest, juniper, spice and citrus oils

Finish: Clean, fragrant and softly botanical

The Pink Grapefruit Base

Pink grapefruit gives this marmalade its vivid citrus character and naturally bittersweet balance.

It is fresher and more floral than a traditional Seville orange marmalade, with a clean tang that works especially well with gin botanicals.

Its natural bitterness also allows the preserve to remain lively and grown-up, rather than simply sweet.

What Gives It Its Pink Gin Character?

A classic pink gin combines gin with aromatic bitters. We echo that pairing here with London Dry Gin and Angostura bitters.

The gin brings juniper and botanical freshness, while the bitters add spice, herbs and aromatic depth.

Together, they support the grapefruit and give the marmalade its distinctive cocktail-inspired finish without masking the fruit.

Why Pink Grapefruit and Gin Work Together

Gin and grapefruit share many naturally complementary flavours, including citrus zest, floral aromas and gentle bitterness.

The grapefruit keeps the marmalade fresh and bright, while the gin adds fragrance and length.

Angostura bitters ties the two together with subtle spice and complexity, creating a layered preserve that remains clear and balanced.

How We Make It

We prepare the pink grapefruit carefully, balancing the juice, fruit and peel to preserve its fresh citrus aroma and natural bitterness.

London Dry Gin and Angostura bitters are added in measured quantities so their botanical character remains elegant and does not overpower the fruit.

Each batch is handmade in open pans in our Gloucestershire kitchen, creating a glossy marmalade with tender peel and a clean, fragrant finish.

How to Enjoy It

  • Serve with ricotta, mascarpone or soft goat’s cheese

  • Stir into a gin cocktail or spritz-style drink

Chef-crafted, small batch, preserving excellence.

Sarah’s Maker’s Note

Pink grapefruit is naturally fresh, floral and gently bitter, so it works beautifully with gin. I want the grapefruit to remain the first flavour, followed by clean juniper, citrus botanicals and a gentle lift of aromatic spice.

Great Taste Awards – Judges’ Comments

“This marmalade is truly outstanding. It deserves its very own ‘Ode to a Marmalade’. We scooped our spoons into the jelly — it was gin, bitters, and zingy grapefruit joy. Very well balanced, allowing every element to sing without any overshadowing the other. Then we happened upon little jewels of pink grapefruit flesh, popping on our tongues and exploding with bittersweet tang. Oh what a lovely surprise they were. Oh, the rind! So beautifully cooked — just enough resistance, yet melt-in-the-mouth — and its bitterness pulled you rapidly from the sugar into a swirl of aroma and citrus. This ‘pretty in pink’ marmalade has been so well judged and executed on every level. Its very existence is a complete pleasure and honour for us to judge.”

This is the most fabulous marmalade. I have purchased jam from the Artisan kitchen and l enjoyed it so much l now add to my list of favourites the Pink Gin Marmalade. If you want to try something so refreshing then this is it. I also ordered a selection of marmalades as presents for my friends and will await their comments in the New Year

  2. Eloise –

I can’t comment on the taste of the marmalade as I brought it for a friend, however the packaging was above and beyond and the jar itself is bigger than I expected and is super cute! It also arrived within a few days! Would definitely recommend 🙂

  3. Jo –

Item was as described and packaged really well with a lovely message from the seller. This was a gift so I haven’t personally tasted it however, the recipient has told me it is absolutely delicious 🥰
