Description
Seville & Moro Blood Orange Marmalade
A very limited micro-batch marmalade made with organic Seville and Moro blood oranges for classic bitterness, deep ruby citrus notes and a long, fragrant finish.
Quick answer: Seville & Moro Blood Orange Marmalade is a seasonal preserve made with organic Seville oranges and organic Moro blood oranges. The Sevilles provide traditional bitterness and citrus structure, while the Moro fruit adds darker colour, richer aroma and rounded blood-orange depth.
This is a marmalade for serious citrus lovers. It combines the clean bitterness and aromatic peel of organic Seville oranges with the deeper colour and rounded fruit character of organic Moro blood oranges.
The Sevilles give the preserve its familiar marmalade backbone. Meanwhile, the Moro oranges bring dark ruby tones, fragrant citrus oils and a softer fruit richness.
Handmade in micro batches in our Gloucestershire kitchen, it is produced only while both seasonal fruits are at their best.
Choose this marmalade if you enjoy proper Seville bitterness with darker blood-orange fruit, fragrant peel and a rich ruby character.

What Are Moro Blood Oranges?
Moro blood oranges are among the darkest and most dramatic blood-orange varieties. Their flesh can develop deep red and ruby tones, alongside a rich citrus aroma and rounded orange flavour.
In marmalade, they bring colour, fragrance and a darker fruit character that feels softer and fuller than Seville orange alone.
Paired with Sevilles, they deepen the preserve without removing the bitterness and structure that define traditional marmalade.
Why Seville and Moro Oranges Work Together
Seville oranges have the natural acidity, bitterness and pectin needed to create a properly structured marmalade with clear citrus character.
Moro blood oranges bring a contrasting fruitiness, deeper colour and fragrant sweetness. They round out the sharper Seville notes while allowing the marmalade to remain bright and unmistakably bitter-orange led.
Together, the two varieties create a layered winter preserve that feels both traditional and unusual.

Chef-crafted, small batch, preserving excellence.
Sarah’s Maker’s Note
The Seville orange must remain at the heart of this marmalade. I use the Moro blood oranges to add colour, fragrance and a darker fruit note, while preserving the clean bitterness and long finish that make a proper Seville marmalade so satisfying.
A Very Limited Seasonal Micro Batch
This marmalade is made only when organic Seville and Moro blood oranges are available at the same time and at the right stage of ripeness.
Because the fruit window is short, production is naturally limited. Once a batch sells out, it may not return until the following citrus season.
That scarcity is not manufactured. It is simply part of working with exceptional seasonal fruit and making each batch when the ingredients are at their best.
Why is marmalade difficult to make well?
A good marmalade depends on the balance between peel, citrus oils, acidity, natural pectin, sweetness and set.
