Description

Sweet Orange & Passion Fruit Marmalade

A bright, fragrant marmalade combining sweet oranges with real passion fruit for fresh citrus flavour and a sunny tropical finish.

Quick answer: Sweet Orange & Passion Fruit Marmalade is a handmade citrus preserve made with sweet oranges and real passion fruit. It has a soft orange base, fragrant tropical notes and a bright, refreshing finish. It is also a multi award-winning marmalade.

Our Sweet Orange & Passion Fruit Marmalade is bright, lively and beautifully citrus-led, with a fresh tropical note that lifts the fruit without overpowering it.

Sweet oranges provide the rounded citrus base, while passion fruit adds fragrance, natural sharpness and a clean, summery finish.

We make it by hand in small batches in our Gloucestershire kitchen, allowing the orange, peel and passion fruit to settle into a balanced, glossy preserve.

Choose this marmalade if you enjoy soft orange flavour, fragrant tropical fruit and a fresh, sunny finish.

Tasting Notes

Flavour: Sweet orange with fragrant passion fruit

Sweetness: Soft, rounded and fruit-led

Sharpness: Bright and naturally refreshing

Texture: Glossy with natural citrus character

Finish: Clean, tropical and gently aromatic

Why Orange and Passion Fruit Work Together

Sweet orange brings warmth, softness and familiar citrus character. It creates a gentler base than a traditional bitter Seville marmalade.

Passion fruit contributes fragrance, lively acidity and a distinctly tropical note. Used carefully, it brightens the orange rather than covering it.

The finished marmalade remains clearly citrus-led, but with a fresher and more summery character than a classic orange preserve.

How We Make It

We cook this marmalade in small open pans, giving close attention to the softness of the peel, the development of the syrup and the balance between orange and passion fruit.

The oranges provide the structure and citrus body, while passion fruit is added to bring fragrance, freshness and tropical fruit character.

The result is a glossy, golden marmalade with enough depth for toast and enough brightness to work beautifully in cakes and desserts.

How to Enjoy It

  • Spread on warm toast, croissants, crumpets or brioche
  • Spoon over pancakes, waffles or porridge
  • Swirl through Greek yoghurt or breakfast bowls
  • Use in sponge cakes, pastries, cheesecakes or tarts
  • Brush over orange cake as a glossy glaze
  • Serve with ricotta, mascarpone, cream cheese or mild Brie

Chef-crafted, small batch, preserving excellence.

Sarah’s Maker’s Note

Passion fruit has such a distinctive aroma that it needs restraint. I use it to lift the sweet orange and bring freshness, while making sure the finished preserve still tastes unmistakably like marmalade.

Simple Serving Ideas

  • Warm gently and brush over an orange sponge cake
  • Ripple through whipped cream and serve with meringue
  • Spoon over vanilla ice cream with fresh mango
  • Use as a filling for thumbprint biscuits or breakfast pastries
  • Layer with mascarpone and crushed biscuits for a quick dessert

Great Taste Awards Judges’ Comments

“A lovely orange aroma and a sunny, zingy colour. The balance of bitterness and sweetness is stunning. This is a fresh, tangy marmalade — perfect for breakfast. The rind is tender and melt-in-the-mouth, and we adored it. Outstanding. The passion fruit lingers in the mouth and adds to the zingy acidity. Really, really wonderful.”

  1. Viv –

I love this marmalade , a hint of sweetness. Again, something different from The Artisan Kitchen and as I never normally buy marmalade because of its bitterness, this was amazing for my first try.

  2. lpalmer62 –

New to marmalade was never my first choice. So glad I have tired this one, bursting with flavour sweet with lovely tangy orange taste. Delicious on toast and croissants. Looking forward to try the other flavours.

  3. Danny –

Having purchased from artisan several times previously, I pretty much knew the standard to expect. My go to flavour was out of stock so time to try something new. It didn’t disappoint. Perfect balance of not too sweet but not too sharp. Still love the pink grapefruit but nice to find an alternative for future use.

  4. Shelley –

Absolutely delicious. The texture is what I’ve always wanted. Just the right sweet and tangy balance. Yum!

  5. Tricia Daniels –

stunning . Every product is a delight

  6. Ellie –

Fantastic flavour. Fruity, tangy and not too sweet.

  7. Anna May –

An extraordinary marmalade, the vibrancy of both the orange and passion fruit is spectacular. A truly delicious marmalade.
