The Artisan Kitchen Wins 20 Great Taste Awards in 2024
Twenty award-winning jams and marmalades were recognised by the Guild of Fine Food, including eight three-star preserves.
The Artisan Kitchen celebrated an extraordinary result at the Great Taste Awards 2024. Twenty of our handmade jams and marmalades received coveted Great Taste stars.
The Guild of Fine Food’s expert judging panel awarded The Artisan Kitchen 8 three-star awards, 10 two-star awards and 2 one-star awards. Together, these results gave our small Gloucestershire kitchen 46 Great Taste stars in one year.
For a small independent producer, this was a remarkable moment. It recognised the flavour, craft and consistency behind our handmade preserves.
The result also added to The Artisan Kitchen’s wider awards history. Our preserves have now won hundreds of food awards, including many Great Taste three-star honours.

Three-star Great Taste winners
Eight Artisan Kitchen preserves received the highest Great Taste rating of three stars in 2024.
Pink Gin Marmalade,
Damson Raspberry Jam,
Pink Grapefruit Marmalade and
Sweet Orange Passion Fruit Marmalade all achieved three-star recognition.
Summer Citrus Marmalade,
Negroni Marmalade,
Seville Orange Marmalade Vino De Naranja and
Negroni Blood Orange Marmalade were also awarded three stars.
A three-star award is reserved for products judged to be exceptional. For a small-batch preserve maker, receiving eight in one year is a rare and very special achievement.
Two-star Great Taste winners
Ten Artisan Kitchen preserves received two-star Great Taste recognition in 2024.
These included
Seville Orange Marmalade,
Blaisdon Red Plum Jam,
Tarocco Blood Orange Marmalade and
Seville Orange Marmalade Italian Orange Bitters.
Blood Orange Marmalade Italian Orange Bitters,
Blood Orange Marmalade Vino De Naranja,
Damson Jam,
Sorrento Lemon Marmalade, Tropical Marmalade and
Seville Orange Marmalade Oloroso Sherry also received two stars.
Two-star awards recognise products that are above and beyond delicious. They show strong flavour, skilled making and clear quality.
One-star Great Taste winners
Two further marmalades received one-star Great Taste awards in 2024.
Tropical Marmalade Ceylon Arrack and
Summer Citrus Marmalade Italian Orange Bitters were both recognised by the judging panel.
One-star awards recognise products with fantastic flavour. They are a valuable marker of quality for food lovers, retailers and gift buyers.
What the judges said
The judges praised the flavour and vibrancy of The Artisan Kitchen’s 2024 entries. They described the preserves as truly stunning marmalades and jams.
They also noted that the flavours were bright, vibrant and full of character. That response meant a great deal to our small Gloucestershire kitchen.
Across the entire 2024 awards, 13,672 products were entered. Only 266 products received three stars, which made the recognition especially meaningful.

What is Great Taste?
Great Taste is organised by the Guild of Fine Food. It is one of the most respected food and drink award schemes in the world.
Products are judged through blind tasting. This means packaging and branding are removed before the judging takes place.
Judges focus on flavour, texture, aroma and quality. The process gives small independent producers a fair chance to be recognised on taste alone.
For The Artisan Kitchen, that matters. Our preserves are made in small batches, with carefully sourced fruit and a chef-led approach to balance.
