The Artisan Kitchen has won 18 Great Taste Awards in 2025. This year’s result includes five prestigious 3-star awards, the highest rating from the Guild of Fine Food.
For our small Gloucester kitchen, this feels like a very special moment. It celebrates the fruit, flavour and careful craft behind every jar.
More than 14,000 products entered the 2025 awards. However, only 273 achieved the top 3-star rating. Five of those came from The Artisan Kitchen.
As a result, our total now stands at 49 Great Taste 3-star awards since we first entered the competition in 2012.

Quick answer
In 2025, The Artisan Kitchen won 18 Great Taste Awards. The results included five 3-star awards, seven 2-star awards and six 1-star awards for handmade jams and marmalades from Gloucester.
2025 three-star Great Taste winners
In 2025, Great Taste judges gave five Artisan Kitchen preserves the highest rating of 3 stars.
Damson Jam,
Early Rivers Prolific Plum Jam,
Summer Citrus Marmalade,
Morello Cherry Jam and
Seville Orange Marmalade Vino De Naranja all achieved 3-star awards.
A 3-star award marks a product as exceptional. Therefore, winning five in one year means a great deal to a small independent producer.
These winners also show the range of our preserve making. They include British fruit jams, heritage plum jam, dark cherry jam and bright citrus marmalade.

2025 two-star Great Taste winners
Alongside the 3-star winners, seven further preserves achieved 2-star Great Taste awards.
The judges gave 2 stars to
Seville Orange Marmalade,
Blood Orange Marmalade Vino De Naranja,
Seville Orange Marmalade Oloroso Sherry and
Blood Orange Marmalade Italian Orange Bitters.
The panel also recognised
Negroni Marmalade,
Negroni Summer Citrus Marmalade and
Pink Gin Marmalade with 2-star awards.
A 2-star award recognises food that goes above and beyond. It also gives customers, buyers and food lovers a clear sign of quality.

2025 one-star Great Taste winners
In addition, six Artisan Kitchen preserves gained 1-star Great Taste awards in 2025.
These were
Tarocco Blood Orange Marmalade,
Sweet Orange Passion Fruit Marmalade,
Seville Orange Marmalade Italian Orange Bitters and
Negroni Blood Orange Marmalade.
Great Taste judges also gave 1-star awards to
Blaisdon Red Plum Jam and
Pink Grapefruit Marmalade.
A 1-star award celebrates food with fantastic flavour. For that reason, it remains a valuable mark of quality.
A legacy of award-winning flavour
This year’s results continue a long awards story for The Artisan Kitchen. Since 2012, Great Taste has repeatedly recognised our handmade preserves.
Every jar begins with carefully sourced fruit. Then we cook in small batches, using a chef-led approach to balance and flavour.
The 2025 results feel especially meaningful because they celebrate both jams and marmalades. They also show the strength of our classic recipes and our more creative citrus preserves.

A word from Sarah Churchill
“I am absolutely thrilled to have won 18 Great Taste Awards in 2025. To receive five 3-star awards from one small Gloucester kitchen feels incredibly special.”
“Every jar is made with care, patience and proper fruit. Recognition from Great Taste means so much because the judges focus on flavour.”

What is Great Taste?
The Guild of Fine Food organises Great Taste. It is one of the world’s most respected food and drink accreditation schemes.
Judges taste products blind. Because of this, packaging and branding do not influence the result.
Instead, the panel focuses on flavour, texture, aroma and overall quality. This process gives small producers a fair chance to shine.
For an independent preserve maker, that matters. Handmade jams and marmalades can stand beside products from much larger producers.
